Not far from us here

Following the recent storms -
Curtsey from BBC.co.uk
seems no-one was immune to the damage caused.

we are very lucky

We love living in the countryside of Ceredigion and being close to nature – very close sometimes!

Last night going into the office to make a last check of the emails, we found a rather lovely Newt wandering around quite happily.  We put him/her outside, showed him/her the direction to the nearest pond and sent him/her on her way.

We’ve had bats in the house (found one asleep in the clothes peg bag once), every Summer we have Swallows coming in and flying round the office.  We had a Sparrowhawk in one of our warehouses once, and frogs will often hop by.

All rather splendid we think.

A new day; different weather!

After the extreme weather of yesterday, all is calm and beautiful today in West Wales.

Blue sky and sunshine, a light dusting of snow is still lying, the air is full of birdsong and there’s not a breath of wind.

All the animals are out enjoying life, and all seems well.

It’s not going to last though – heavy rain is due for tomorrow and so we should enjoy today while we can.

Signs of Spring ?

First SnowDrops

After the storm comes the calm (or until this afternoon when the next of the gales blows in.)

Putting the bunnies in their outside runs this morning I was delighted to see the first snow drops of the year had just emerged.  And, then noticed that there were new shoots on the honeysuckle by the office door!

So, despite the terrible weather, Spring it seems, is on the way.
